Prince Edward Island Step-by-step guide

How to get your Prince Edward Island Instruction Driver's Permit (Class 7)

Who can apply, what to bring, what happens if you don't pass, and the rules once you have it. Then practise for the test.

Step by step

  1. Study the PEI Driver's Handbook.
  2. If you're under 18, have your parents or legal guardian sign the consent form. It's in the Co-pilot brochure.
  3. Go to Access PEI with your documents and pay the fee.
  4. Pass the vision test and the written and road sign tests. You can ask for an oral test.
  5. If you're in a certified driver education program, you may write the test in class, but you still go to Access PEI for the vision test.
